The Vegvisir is an ancient Icelandic design that represents the nine realms of the world. It was inscribed in open form on both sides of a piece of wood, bone or ivory and worn as a neck pendant for guidance and protection on journeys.
In modern times, the design has been adapted into jewelry that can also be worn by those who are not necessarily heading into unknown territory!
The open form symbolizes freedom and exploration, while the iconic Vegvisir pattern is an indication to others that you may need assistance along your journey.
