925 Sterling Silver 'Distressed' Vegvisir and Celtic Knot Viking Ring
Awesome ring made from 925 Sterling Silver and featuring a 'distressed' central Vegvisir surrounded by Celtic knot patterns
A Viking Ring is a Norse sign of protection and a symbol of power. It is often given to someone who has recently been promoted into a higher rank or as a wedding gift. Historically, the ring was worn on the left hand with the point of it pointing outwards to warn those who might want to do you harm. The Vegvisir (or Viking Compass) was used by Vikings to find their way during long journeys over land and sea. It features eight symbols that represent the cardinal directions on a compass as well as four additional symbols, each one representing something different: man, woman, sun and moon.
