Drinking horns were common in Viking Age Scandinavia. In the sagas, Thor supposedly drank from a horn that contained all the seas. Drinking horns also feature in Beowulf, and fittings for drinking horns have been found at the Sutton Hoo burial site in the UK.
All our drinking horns are made in small numbers by hand in the US from all natural water buffalo or steer horns.
Each horn is cleaned, sanitized and sealed with 100% beeswax to ensure a safe and leak-proof finish.
Available in a variety of capacities. Please note that pictures show typical examples but horns are a natural product and so length, curvature and color will vary from horn to horn.
Best used with ale, mead or wine. Do not fill with hot beverages or hard alcoholic drinks.
