The ring of the mighty Norse god Odin, the Valknut is a circular design with three interlocking triangles. The shape of the Valknut or "sock knot" was believed to be a protective sign for sailors, with the three interlocking triangles representing their sun gods, Odin, Thor and Frey. Legend has it that those who wore a valknut ring would be safe from drowning.
This piece features a striking and detailed Valknut design in the center, with Celtic knots around the edges.
